Lucy’s Birthday
Saturday was Lucy’s 3rd Birthday. We had a lovely party with some of our friends and family. The party was at a local park in Jamestown, NC. City Lake Park is a lovely park on a lake that features a large playground, a carousel, and a small train. Everyone had a great time! I think Lucy’s and Sophie’s favorite part was the train.
Lucy insisted on having a Baby Doll Cake for her birthday. I decided we were not the...
Slow Cooker Sunday!!!
I have not made very many dessert recipes in the slow cooker, so I decided to give this chocolate brownie recipe a try. I think it is a fabulous idea to have dessert cooking in the slow cooker, especially since occasionally the oven is already occupied by dinner. A great idea for multi-tasking moms! This recipe turns out to be more of a molten brownie. I served it immediately with vanilla ice cream. Yum!!!

Sort of Slow Cooker Sunday!!!
So today’s slow cooker recipe is a little different. You see, Kate and I are relaxing and soaking up the sun with our friend Jenny, at the beach on our 1st annual beach trip. I decided to take the ingredients to try this recipe. Alas, there is no slow cooker at the beach house, but it baked up just as nicely in a 9 X 13 pan at 350 F for 30 minutes! So cook it either way you like!

Hospital Trips and Cake Squares

So, we got in the elevator to leave and whispered to her in the quietest voice I could make, “Wanna go get a cake square?”
Out of no where, from across the elevator a women obviously no stranger to baked goods, said “MMM…Cake Squares? You goin...
For Father’s Day!
Today is a special day. It’s the day we set aside each year to honor and celebrate our wonderful dads. And since today is also Slow Cooker Sunday at my house, I decided to whip up something new in the slow cooker. Something special I knew Sophie’s daddy would enjoy. Not only is this a new recipe in my repertoire of slow cooker delights, but it was the first dessert I’ve ever made in my slow cooker. Despite it being a first, it will...
Cakes I’ve Made
I love to make cakes. I used to make them quite often, until I became a mom. Now the time it takes to properly decorate a cake is reserved for my daughter’s birthday and her cousins birthdays as well. Here are some examples of the cakes I have made.
This is a brown and pink fondant cake made for a friend’s birthday.
This is a blue and cream fondant cake made for my mom’s birthday.
