Last night we attended the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in Charlotte thanks to Mom Central and Feld Entertainment. The show was called “Zing Zang Zoom” and mixed a typical circus act with magic stunts and a story line. The beginning of the show had the usual parade of animals, clowns and people who fly through the air. Then the story line began: evil magician, flying people, and clowns.

There were some performers who flew through the air, but it wasn’t trapeze style, definitely a different spin on the usual circus. We did miss the animals, that is Lucy’s favorite part of the circus. The story line was too complicated for the three year old and seemed to be more suited to a 7-10 age range. It’s still the circus, but has a different feel. If you go, be sure to sit in the center as they seemed to focus the show to the center of the ring. On a side note, if you are a drunk college kid like the ones sitting behind us you will find the circus mystifying to the degree where you feel the need to give a play by play of the whole circus to everyone in your section and shout expletives, in between sips of your beer. **I can say with a large degree of certainty that you won’t encounter drunk college kids at the circus, I just seem to have really good luck.**

Mom Central and Feld Entertainment are providing a great coupon code so your whole family can enjoy the circus together. Here’s the skinny:
Get 4 tickets for $44 Monday-Friday matinee, or $4 off weekend tickets by entering the code “MOM” in the

The last time we went to th circus the kids were tiny. It’s time to go again. Thanks for the nudge!
I haven’t been to the circus since I was a kid. It looks like they’ve vamped it up!
