Health Insurance for Your Student

At first thought, nothing is scarier than losing your job when you have a family.  What can seem even more  daunting is affording health insurance when you lose your job or your income is reduced.  Not having health insurance for yourself is one thing, but not having insurance for your child is a whole other level of worry.

UnitedHealthcare StudentResources provides low cost health care to students.  This division of UnitedHealthcare has earned parents confidence by providing the great quality student health insurance for the past 40 years.  This HIPPA complaint health plan covers the child for injury and sickness 24/7/365.  The health plan is available through many participating school districts and participating private schools and nationally available through schools that belong to the Association of Christian Schools International.  Over 2000 school districts and public school systems participate in this program across the country.  The Health Plan is available to K12 students from ages 5 – 18 (ages 4-18 in Texas).

While insurance costs keep rising, the health plan from UnitedHealthcare StudentResources actually increased benefits while keeping the premium cost the same as 2008.  The cost is amazingly affordable at $588 per policy year or $98 every two months. Parents can enroll their student at any point in the school year.  At that price, you could use the K12 Health Plan to reimburse you for your children’s eligible medical expenses while they are working toward meeting their employer plan’s deductible.

I think its great that you posted this. I am fortunate enough to have my son insured through me and my work. In Massachusetts now its a law that everyone HAS to be insured.
