Smelly Washer Review and Giveaway!

Three years ago, I went out and bought one of those fancy front loading washers.  I thought, “ooh, they look so cool, and they use so much less water, and ooh I must have one.”  Well what they don’t tell you at the store?  They STINK!

Smelly_Washer_-_Bottle

Smelly Washer heard about my stinky smelly washer and sent me their solution.  Smelly Washer is a powder that you add to the detergent basin, let the washer fill and agitate and let soak overnight.  It is a all natural product that aims to take the unpleasant smell of mold and mildew out of your washer and out of you clothes.

I tested Smelly Washer in my own smelly washer.  I used it once,  improvement.  I used it again, it definitely got the washer cleaner.  And definitely less smelly.  But, I think my smelly washer could probably use one more overnight soaking to get it back to showroom standards.  The key to maintaining a good smelling washer is keeping the door open.  This is a problem for me as my toddler closes it all the time.  So, as long as I have Smelly Washer around, I’ll be ok.

My washer still smells ok, but then again I run a load of ‘bleach only’ about once every 2 weeks.

We’ve had our front loading washer about a year now and we’ve been really careful about drying it out after each load. It’s just starting to get a bit funky.
