UPDATE: Kodak contacted me and sent me a new camera and printer. I received the m380 camera. The camera takes good pictures and is nice and compact. The only thing I don’t like on it is the viewing screen is really grainy in low light, but the photos turn out great. I also received the ESP 7 Printer. I am in love. It is a wireless printer, allowing me to be anywhere in my house and print! The print quality is great, I even printed some logos for a t-shirt at BlogHer! So, I must amend my original title. Why Kodak Doesn’t Suck!!!

I received a Kodak camera and a Kodak Printer as a gift about a year ago. That’s where it went down hill. I am thoroughly disappointed by these products. I really thought Kodak would have better quality.
My printer did not work when I tried to set it up. Well I call customer service and after about an hour on the phone, they say they will send me a new printhead. And software because the software in the box was wrong(it was not for the printer installation). Well, how nice they didn’t charge me for the printhead that was BROKEN in the first place.
My camera worked for 3 months. And then stopped. No dropping, no moisture, I swear I did nothing to it. So, I call customer service, again, they inform me I can send it back and I can pay for the shipping. To ship their crappy joke of a camera back. Whatever. And then they would “see” if it was covered. No mention of reimbursement for shipping. Yeah, I know how that goes.
What kind of customer service is that. It is absolutely ridiculous. SO, 9 months later I have no camera. No camera to record my daughter’s big moments, no camera to photograph all the crazy things that happen to me, and no camera to take to BlogHer.
Kodak, you suck!

I would like to make a formal complaint against Kodak . I purchased a camera less than a year ago . It was the best and most new camera out . I had missed placed the receipt after the first time it broke ( within one month ) and when I contacted Kodak they acknowledged that the camera was out less than a year in stores and honored the warranty from that date . I had to send it to a repair shop at my expense even though it was month old. The second time it broke ( less than 2 weeks after I got it ) the repair shop sent me a return label and I expressed to the them this camera was a lemon and needed to be replaced . The repair shop said they had to repair and they did so . Now I am on my third time and the camera is still doing the same thing so I contacted the repair shop who told me to contact Kodak who acknowledged again it was under warranty and the would replace if I had a receipt even though its in all there notes. After speaking to a supervisor he agreed to send me a refurbished camera . I told him that was unacceptable and that it states in there warranty book with camera that they would replace the camera with a new camera if proven the camera was a lemon or not working up to Kodak standards and had been to here repair shop twice . I feel as if I have been done wrong from the start . I paid high dollar for a camera and it has been in the repair shop longer than I have owned it and I am getting nothing but bad options from Kodak and feel as if I have been ripped off and they are not honoring there own warranty by replacing a camera that has never worked with another camera that has also never worked and calling it refurbished . Also with the refurbished camera and note these camera models are all made with in a year is a used broken camera . Now Kodak has said to me that they will not give me a new camera nor a refurbished camera and I would have to send the camera in again and they will repair for the third time . This is the catcher once I send the camera in for the third time my warranty is over and now I am the owner of a camera that has never worked . I asked the person Marcus ID # 634664 where he was located and he said our head office was in NY and I said that was not my question and he said he was Indonesia …GO FIGURE . Then I asked him for the address and contact information for the owner and president of Kodak and he said he could not give me that information . I am so sick of bad customer service , bad products and having to deal with a third world country for customer service in AMERICA !!! I am sending this to the Better Business Bureau and I am also sending it to Kodak and will be blogging and placing this on as many web sites as possible daily . I will never by a product from Kodak again .

I also had a problem with my printhead for my printer. A friend of mine who works for kodak had recomended to me and my friends that we buy the printer. I bought 2 printers one to send to my daughter in college and the other for myself. My printer didnt work straight out of the box either did my daughters. Called in and yes they sent me a new print head which worked. After 3 months that print head died. I spoke to My good friend about the printer and he said that basically everyone he knew who bought it was having the same issue. He also said that his work said that the issue was caused by the ink. Apparently the ink mixture was coroding the heads. My question is if its eating through the heads why whould the print head not work straight out of the box. From my experience with kodaks products I will not be buying anything from them again anytime soon. Its good to hear that you got a new printer and camera but what about everyone else who has had issues.
I had my Kodak about six months before that started doing stuff like that so I feel ya!
I hated my Kodak camera, too. So much happier with my Sony Cybershot!
I hope lcj hooks you up before Blog Her, that would be great!
As an aside, I had extremely similar happenings w/Kodak Customer Service. We have had 2 out of 3 products go awry (one broken from the get-go), and very little helpful assistance. While I still have the one camera that works well, and I love it, and I will not completely rule out Kodak purchases in the future, I am leery. The last two camera purchases I made (for Christmas last year) were Nikon and Cannon…completely because of my incidents w/Kodak Customer Service. They make you feel like you could be at fault for the product malfunctioning or not working at all, and then when you send the product to them and get it back, the same thing happens again or it does not get fixed. Not to mention the long hold time on the phone that you mentioned.
In any case, I hope you get a camera before Blog Her, and I hope it works great.
