Keen Footwear kindly sent us a pair of their Newport H2 Sandals for Lucy to try. Lucy was so excited to get them and put them on as soon as they came. We happened to be outside, she put them on, and she was gone! Running up the driveway with no problem. There was no “adjustment period” with the Keens. No “she’s got to get use to them” and no falling down. Lucy has a little trouble with her balance and the Keens give her incredible stability. She has AFOs (orthotics that go up to her ankles) that help her stability. We use her orthotics with her other pair of Keens, they fit in Keen shoes beautifully(just take out the removable footbed). I thought I would see how she did without her orthotics with these sandals, because really, if she doesn’t need to wear the orthotics with them, I’d be thrilled. Well, Lucy has had the Keen sandals for about 3 weeks and has been doing great with out her orthotics. They give her just enough stability without restricting her movement.
Lucy loves to jump in them. She wears them in the pool, outside, with dresses, I think she’s worn them everyday since they arrived and they still look new. Another great feature is the toe guard. This protects little toes from scraping and little shoes from looking rough! And I would be amiss not to mention that Lucy loves these shoes because she can put them on all by herself!
I am officially a Keen fanatic. These shoes are my top pick for little ones learning to walk. Stayed tuned for my post on why Keen shoes are also my top pick for those who may have learned to walk a little less recently!

These are so adorable! I love that she’s able to put them on herself not only is that a sense of accomplishment for her but it’s one less thing for you to have to do in the mornings!
I am a grandma and an outdoor girl. I love my Keens. They are a very trendy green. I wore them to a long day at the state fair and could have gone all night. Maureen
awesome! I love my Keens, too. Josh said that they always sell out of the kids Keens at REI.
Those shoes ARE very cute, and they look more sturdy than Crocs. I don't think I could ever get my kids to trade in their Crocs, though.
