JaMichael Brown is one big baby! He was born weighing over 16 pounds, and may set the record in Texas for the largest baby ever born.

His parents, Janet Johnson and Michael Brown already have three children, and this baby may become a star football player, or maybe a basketball player, his proud parents hope. His father says he was just amazed when he came out at how big he was.

JaMichael’s mother, Janet is used to giving birth to large babies, since the last baby she delivered weighed 8 pounds, and the doctors told her that she should expect her next baby to weigh at least 12 pounds.

Johnson told the ladies at her baby shower to get gifts for a larger baby, instead of purchasing the normal newborn baby items.

Even though the doctors told Johnson how big the baby would be, they had no idea that JaMichael would be as large as he was. He came into the world via Cesarean section just after 9 a.m., on Friday, July 8th, and weighed 16 pounds, 1 ounce. He had a full head of hair, and measured 2 feet in length.

JaMichael’s height and weight are more the equivalent of a baby that is at least 3 – 6 months of age, compared to a new born infant.
Although JaMichael is a large baby, he isn’t the world’s largest. According to Guinness World Records, the largest baby ever born weighed 23.12 pounds, and was born in 1879. JaMichael may still be the largest baby ever born in Texas though.
The baby’s parents are already making adjustments for their large newborn baby. Even though he was expected to be a large baby, he has been a surprise to everyone, and it turns out even the hospital didn’t have diapers large enough to fit him.

Even though Johnson says she’s happy, and looking forward to bringing her newborn baby son home, she says “That’s it, no more now.”
